Delicious new beverages at the Links Clubhouse

Sometimes a drink is well needed after a round of golf. Here at the Links Clubhouse we’ve recently introduced some delicious new summer beverages to our extensive bar selection.

Thistly Cross Cider

Our new additions include a range of extremely flavoursome ciders. Brewed at South Belton Farm in East Lothian, Thistly Cross farmhouse ciders come in lots of flavours, each with its own unique and memorable taste.

The guys at Thistly Cross take great pride in being heavily involved in every aspect of the cider production from pressing the apples to the five month maturing process. They demand the highest of standards which led them to be presented with four gold awards from the Great Taste competition which commends the best produce from around the United Kingdom.

We stock three ciders from the from Thistly Cross collection: the Whisky Cask Cider, the Traditional Cider and the Original Cider. The Whisky Cask is considered a medium, dry cider with hints of vanilla whereas both the Traditional and the Original have a smooth and fruity feel. In fact, the Traditional is simply a lower ABV (alcohol by volume) version of the Original.

Fraoch Ale

One of our not-so-new additions is the Fraoch Ale which we have had on sale for well over a year now. The Fraoch Ale has quickly become a top-seller at the Links Clubhouse, with both tourists and locals enjoying it.

Brewed in Alloa using heather and bog myrtle, which is a herb native to Scotland, Fraoch Ale is very pale compared to other ales and many of our customers have even commented that it’s similar in flavour and pigment to a lager. Fraoch has a floral peaty aroma, full malt character, and a spicy finish.

So pay us a visit and try out some of our great new beverages!
