All quiet at The Castle

With the busy summer behind us now, we face the shorter and colder days of the winter. We also say our goodbyes to The Castle Course for the season, as the staff go into hibernation for the winter months.

The Castle Course closed its doors for winter earlier this month and will reopen on 28 February 2014.

It may be quiet on the course but it’s all hands on deck in the clubhouse as both lounge and kitchen staff embark on the infamous deep clean for the close season.

There are bottles of spirits to be boxed up, coffee cups to be packed away and the braw job of cleaning the pipes for the last time this year before the clubhouse gets to put its feet up for a well-earned rest.

Some of our staff members have the winter off while the others are redeployed in either the Links or Eden clubhouses doing what they do best over Christmas.

There is still plenty of work to do as we plan ahead for the new season in March: new menus; new drinks and new staff to look forward to.

For now, we have time to reflect on another great year at The Castle and look ahead to a busy 2014.
