The next chapter for Bradley Neil

Bobby Jones, Jose Maria Olazabal, Sergio Garcia…these are just a few of the names etched onto the British Amateur Trophy. Now there’s another name to be added: Bradley Neil. Bradley is a player well known in Scottish golfing circles having been very successful in both junior and full competitive golf. But with this win he has well and truly announced himself onto the global stage!

To have a Scottish winner of this prestigious title is great, but here at the Golf Academy, we are particularly excited by the news. Bradley has been coached by our Senior Instructor, Kevin Hale for 4 years. We regularly see Bradley around the Academy for lessons with Kevin and to see him achieving this amazing feat is a real thrill for everyone. Just think of all those before him who have held that trophy; it’s enough to give you goose bumps.

What this means is an invite to next year’s Masters Tournament and the US Open; how exciting is that prospect? But next on the agenda is playing the The Open Championship at Hoylake later this month. Bradley loves playing links golf and will be trying his upmost to secure the coveted Gold Medal for the lowest Amateur player in the field.

Bradley is a gifted athlete and a brilliant player. He is in peak physical condition and his form this year has been fantastic. None of this is by coincidence though. Bradley works extremely hard on all aspects of his game and this win has been a result of many years of effort. It’s a great example of working hard and being determined to bring success. Bradley has one of the most competitive and driven personalities I have ever seen and I am convinced this is crucial in all of his success.

Everyone at St Andrews Links Golf Academy would like to wish him the very best of luck and once again congratulate him on this fantastic and historic achievement. Amazing work Bradley!
