After a busy year preparing meals, organising functions and even welcoming Michelin Star chef into our kitchen, it was great to relax and let off a little steam in December

What a year!

From the greenkeepers to the catering staff, we’ve all had a busy year in 2013; a year in which the Links has been the venue for the Ricoh Women’s British Open and yet another successful Dunhill Links Championship.

We were also blessed with good weather which made the experience for all of our visitors that little bit more special, although it may not have helped their golf!

2013 saw changes in all 3 clubhouse restaurants with staff moving on, a new assistant lounge manager in the Links Clubhouse and several new faces joining the Food and Beverage family.  The Castle Course had its most successful year since its opening in 2008, which is fantastic.  The Eden Clubhouse took full advantage of the weather with customers able to dine alfresco in the summer sun, which has become a rare treat over recent years.

After a busy year preparing meals, organising functions, training staff and even welcoming Michelin Star chef into our kitchen, it was great to relax and let off a little steam in December with the annual St Andrews Links Christmas party, this year held at the Old Course Hotel.

Now we enter a new year and look ahead to what 2014 has in store for us; preparations will step up for the 2015 Open Championship on the Old Course, we welcome back the Dunhill Links Championship and two new building projects will be completed here at the Home of Golf.

Let’s hope 2014 is our best year yet! You can follow all the action right here on the official St Andrews Links blog.
