Sweet work ahead of St Andrew’s Day Dinner

Kitchen staff from the Links were treated to a sugar work masterclass recently conducted by British Masterchef, Willie Pike. Willie is renowned for his sugar work expertise and he enjoys sharing his knowledge. So much so he was awarded an MBE for his contribution to the hospitality industry and services to education.

The class was in preparation for this year’s St Andrew’s Day Dinner on 29 November at The Old Course Hotel. Six of the kitchen team and two students from SRUC Elmwood will be assisting Sharon Munro, Head of Catering at the Links, prepare the intermediate course at the event. These sugar masterpieces will make for some eye-catching displays!
