Autumn aeration of greens commences

On Sunday work was started on the aeration of our greens as part of our main aerification going into winter. Work was delayed slightly due to frosty conditions but we managed to get underway by mid morning with 7 greens completed and now hopefully of finishing the remainder later today before moving onto start work on the green surrounds.

Our work on the 7th carry is complete with just some final raking required before applying a mulch to seal and prevent sand blow through winter, the area will be seeded in the spring.

Last we started to re-build some bunkers on the 5th hole and have reduced the back step in areas to allow for easier access by golfers.

Another job which will be starting today will be the removal of various areas of gorse starting at the 2nd, we shall be working on some other areas at 3rd, 4th & 5th over the next few Mondays when the course will be closed.
